3 em 1 »» 3 in 1

Cá por casa há uma divisão que é 3 em 1: escritório, quarto de brincar e quarto de costura.

Acho que mesmo que me mude para uma casa maior vou ter sempre uma divisão com estas valências todas, pois é onde ao fim do dia nos reunimos, cada um a fazer o que lhe apetece. É um espaço de reunião familiar e de partilha. Há espaço para ler no sofá, pintar e desenhar, jogar jogos, fazer os tpc, trabalhar no computador ou na mesa de costura, mas sempre todos juntos. 

Esta semana o nosso "quarto de brincar" sofreu algumas alterações, pois estávamos a precisar duma mesa maior. As miúdas entraram para a escola primária e a outra mesa estava a ficar pequena para tanta actividade.

At our place we have a room that is 3 in 1: office, playroom and sewing room. 

I think even if I switch to a bigger house we will always have a room with all these valences, as this is where we meet at the end of the day, each one doing what he wants. It is a place for family gathering and sharing. There is enough room  to read on the couch, paint and draw, play games, do homework, work on the computer or sew, but always together. 

This week our "playroom" has undergone some changes, as we were in need of a bigger table. The girls are now on primary school and the other table was getting too small for so much activity.

 

 

Elásticos para o cabelo »» Ponytail holders

Esta semana temos novidades na loja.

As miúdas pediram e eu fiz e como ficou tão giro decidi fazer também para a loja.

This week I have something new in the shop.

The girls asked for it and as it turned out so cute I decided to make some more for the shop.

E aqui estão eles: elásticos para o cabelo em forma de Hello Kitty e de flor. Em breve haverá outros modelos na loja. Também disponível por email.

Secretária "nova" »» "New" desk

A mesa onde tenho a máquina de costura é uma mesa antiga que está toda estragada. Já por diversas vezes pensei em pintá-la, mas eu tenho um pequeno defeito. Adoro transformar e modificar mobília, mas não tenho grande paciência. Quando tenho uma ideia, quero tudo para ontem. Pintar móveis demora: primeiro tem que se lixar, limpar e só depois pintar, esperar que seque e voltar a pintar.

The desk where I have the sewing machine is an old table in a very bad condition. I thought about painting it several times, but I have a small defect. I love to transform and change the furniture, but I don't have great patience. When I have an idea, I want everything for yesterday. Painting furniture takes a lot of time: first you have to sand, clean and then paint, wait for it to dry and then re-paint.

 

 

Sempre que possível procuro arranjar soluções mais imediatas, como esta aqui.

Peguei na mesa, limpei-a e forrei-a com papel de embrulho. Ah e voltei a forrar com película autocolante transparente para lhe dar maior resistência! E já está! Meia hora foi o que bastou para ela ficar assim:

Whenever possible I try to get more immediate solutions such as this one. 

I got the table, wiped it and cover it with wrapping/scrapbooking paper. Oh and I also lined it with transparent adhesive film to give it more strength! That's it! Half an hour was enough for it to look like this:

E se me fartar... fácil... é só voltar a forrar com outro papel. Mais rápido que isto é impossível, não?

And if I get tired of it ... easy ... I only have to do it again with another paper. Faster than this is impossible, don't you think?

Jogo do Galo da Hello Kitty »» Hello Kitty Tic Tac Toe

Hoje coloquei à venda na loja algo que já planeava fazer à bastante tempo: um jogo do galo da Hello Kitty.
É uma variante do jogo tradicional (também à venda na loja), que acho que vai agradar principalmente às meninas.

Today I put something new on the store, something that I was planning to make for quite some time: an Hello Kitty tic tac toe game set.
It is a variant of the traditional game (also for sale in the shop), which I think will appeal especially to little girls.

De volta! »» I'm back!

As férias já terminaram e tudo já voltou ao normal.
Depois das férias veio o tempo de limpar, lavar, passar a ferro e arrumar. E foi o que fiz durante a semana que passou, mas agora já voltei à rotina.
Estas férias decidi deixar os crafts de lado: dediquei-me à leitura e ao "dolce far niente" que também é preciso.
Estas pregadeiras que hoje coloquei à venda já estavam feitas, à espera de irem para a montra da loja.

The holidays have ended and everything is back to normal. 
After the holidays came the time for cleaning, washing, ironing and tidying. That was what I did during the past week, but now I'm back to my routine. 
This year I decided to leave the crafts at home: I have devoted myself to reading and "dolce far niente" which is also important for our well being. 
These pins that I put up for sale today  were already made, waiting to go to the store.

Férias »» Holidays

Estamos hoje de partida para férias. Para o "nosso" pequeno paraíso rodeado por dois mares. Longe de tudo e sem computador.Vejo-vos em breve!

Doce de Pêssego »» Peach jam

Este ano estou numa de doces! Não, nunca tinha feito. Tudo começou em Setembro passado quando a Ana me trouxe dois sacos cheios de marmelos e decidi fazer marmelada. Depois fiz geleia de marmelo e na outra semana fiz doce de ameixa. É um processo bastante simples e rápido e o resultado não podia ser melhor: doce caseiro e o gostinho do "fui eu que fiz".

This year I'm in a jam mood! I had never made jams before. It all began last September when Ana brought me two bags full of quinces and I decided to try and make some quince marmalade. Then I made quince jelly and some weeks ago I made plum jam. It's really a very easy and quick process and the result could not be better: homemade jam and the sweet taste when you say " I made it myself".
