Já há imenso tempo que queria experimentar fazer um aplique em tecido, mas não sabia muito bem como o fazer. Por isso, foi ficando nos projectos para fazer mais tarde.
Mesmo antes de ir de férias encontrei estas t-shirts de algodão biológico à venda (muito baratinhas), mas muito branquinhas, sem graça.
Então, lá fui ler sobre como fazer um aplique - e olhem que há várias maneiras!
Decidi usar entretela termocolante. Recortei o tecido e a entretela em forma de coração (pareceu-me um desenho simples, ideal para 1ª tentativa), cosi com ponto zigzag os dois com o direito do tecido virado para a parte colante da entretela, deixando uma pequena abertura para virar.
Depois de cosido, virei o coração e passei a ferro, colando a entretela à t-shirt. Depois cosi com ponto zigzag à volta de coração e já está!
As miúdas têm usado bastante a t-shirt o que é indicativo de que gostaram e por isso já comprei mais umas t-shirts para fazer mais apliques - apetece-me fazer uma com um mocho, mas não sei se consigo, a ver vamos : )
I have been wanting to make a fabric appliqué for a long time now, but as I was not sure how to make it, it kept staying in the to do list.
Before going on holiday I found these organic cotton t-shirts for sale. Very cheap, but very white!
So there I was reading about how to make an appliqué - and there are several ways you can make one!
I decided to use fusible interfacing. I cut out the fabric and stabilizer in the form of an heart (it seemed to me a simple design, ideal for a 1st attempt). I sewed with zigzag stitch the two - the right of the fabric facing the sticky part of the stabilizer, leaving a small opening for turning.
Once sewn, turned my heart and started to iron the interfacing to the t-shirt. Then I sewed around the heart with zigzag stitch and I was done!
The girls have wore the t-shirt quite a lot which means they liked it. So I already bought a few more t-shirts to do more appliqués - I feel like doing one with an owl, let's see if I can : )
