Retire do lume e deixe arrefecer.
For my husband's birthday I made a sponge cake filled with custard cream and dipped in chocolate - at the request of the twins! It had to be this cake, could be no other!
However, I changed the custard cream recipe a bit and I think for the better!
My recipe that I shared in this post here carried water. Now instead of water I used milk. The idea was not mine, I admit! I took it from Luisa's blog, which by the way I love and I follow assiduously :)
Modesty aside it was divine!

The new Custard cream recipe:
Place 6 egg yolks in a saucepan and add 6 tablespoons of sugar and stir well with a wooden spoon. Add 6 tablespoons of milk and stir well. Bring this mixture to a low heat (always stiring) until it boils and begins to thicken. Remove from heat and let cool.
