Neste momento tenho 3 amigas grávidas - todas à espera de meninos - e não sei porquê todas me perguntam o que é que é preciso comprar! Talvez seja por eu já ter 3 filhos, será?

Lembro-me quando ainda na primeira gravidez (quase há 10 anos atrás) de pesquisar o que precisava de comprar para o enxoval das gémeas e tentar compilar as várias listas que as amigas e familiares me iam dando e confesso que às tantas ficava completamente perdida, sem saber por onde começar!

Como mãe de primeira viagem e ainda por cima de gémeas optámos pelo básico e essencial, o que mesmo assim é muita coisa!

Tivemos ainda a ajuda preciosa dos avós babados e amigos fantásticos que nos emprestaram e ofereceram montes de coisas!

 

Right now I have three pregnant friends - all waiting for boys - and I don't know why but they all ask me what to buy! Maybe it's because I already have 3 children!

I remember my first pregnancy (almost 10 years ago) and I was asking what to buy for the twins and had a difficult time trying to compile the various lists that friends and family were giving me and I confess that at some point I was at a lost!

As a new mother and of twins I went for the basic and essential, which is a lot!

We also had the invaluable help of grandparents and fantastic friends who lent us and offered lots of things!

Para passear:

- 2 ovinhos da Bébé Confort

- carrinho de gémeos da Bébé Confort com todos os extras, capa disto, capa daquilo, forra de inverno (que deu um jeitão) e claro os redutores- obrigatório para prematuros!

- saco das fraldas com compartimentos para tapete da muda, biberons, etc que acabou por ter de ser substituído por um saco de desporto do Snoopy, pois a tralha era tanta que não cabia no fantástico saco das fraldas que me tinham oferecido!

 

For sightseeing:

- 2 Bébé Confort baby car seats

- Bébé Confort twins stroller with all the extras and of course the obligatory baby-hugg inlay for premature babies!

- Diaper bag with compartments for diaper changes, baby bottles, etc which eventually had to be replaced by a Snoopy sports bag because the stuff was so that we didn't fit everything in the fantastic diaper bag I had!

Para dormir:

- 2 camas de grades da Trama + colchões ortopédicos

- 4 conjuntos para as camas de grades, o que inclui: forra impermeável para o colchão, lençóis, edredons, capas para os edredons e protector lateral para as grades

- 2 almofadas anti-sufoco da Vertbaudet

- 2 ninhos, que comprámos posteriormente porque as miúdas destapavam-se de noite e os ninhos mantêm-nos quentinhos a noite toda!

Para o banho:

- termómetro para medir a temperatura da água

- tesoura corta-unhas e escova de cabelo da Chicco e cotonetes específicos de bebé

- kit de higiene: ofereceram-me a gama da Mustela, que infelizmente não pude usar pois as miúdas tinham pele atópica. Assim, tive que correr à farmácia e comprar a conselho da pediatra da maternidade: Oleoban (gel de banho híper mega gorduroso, mas fantástico) e o creme de corpo Exomega da Aderma

 

For the bath:
- Bathtub with diaper changer

- bath recliner
- Thermometer for measuring the water temperature
- 4 bath towels with hood
- Bepanthene or Halibut nappy care
- Chicco scissors and nail clippers, hair brush
- Hygiene kit: I was offered many Mustela products, which unfortunately I could not use because the girls had atopic skin. So I had to run to the pharmacy and buy: Oleoban (bath gel hyper mega greasy, but fantastic) and body cream Exomega of Aderma

- montes de biberons Tigex (para mim continuam a ser os melhores)

- escovilhão para lavar os biberons

- 2 cadeiras da papa Peg Perego (as melhores do mercado naquela altura)

To eat:
- lots of Tigex bottles (for me still the best)
- bottle brush to wash the bottles
- 2 Peg Perego highchairs  (the best on the market at that time)
- 2 sets of plate + cup

For the nursery:

sterilizer (I just put everything in a large pot with boiling water, but now a friend lent me one for Francisquinho and I love it!)

Na verdade nem tudo é essencial, hoje sei que vários itens que constam nessas listas não precisam de ser comprados de imediato, outros nunca chegamos a usar.... algumas coisas são essenciais para umas mães e não são para outras...

Da gravidez do Francisquinho já tinha a grande maioria dos essenciais e foi bem mais fácil! Mas isso vai ficar para outro post, pois este já está grande demais :)

Não incluí aqui também o que levar na mala para a maternidade e a lista das roupas indispensáveis nesta fase, pois isso vai também ficar para outro post!

 

Actually not everything is essential, today I know that several items contained in these lists need not be purchased immediately, others never got to use .... some things are essential for a mother and not for another ...

When I was pregnant of Francisquinho I already had the vast majority of essentials and it was much easier! But that'll be for another post, because this one is already too big :)
Not included here are also what to pack for the hospital and the list of essential clothes for this stage, as this will also be on another post!

Meu nome é Ana e sou uma mãe portuguesa dona-de-casa! Tenho 3 filhos: duas meninas gêmeas + um menino.

I used to be a teacher but after my girls were born I decided to stay at home and eventually became a crafty mommy and a blogger.

I started this blog in May 2009 because I was developing a strong interest in everything homemade and wanted to document all my progresses. As my life evolved so did the blog and before I knew it I was sharing corners of my home, my party cakes, my everyday recipes, my first attempts at sewing and glimpses of my travels.

Big Letters »» Letras grandes

Apesar das mil tarefas que tenho que fazer todos os dias, há uma que continua a dar-me muito gosto em fazer - daí ter decidido não fechar a loja - os meus trabalhos em feltro!

Não vos tenho mostrado muito do que tenho feito, pois é sempre mais do mesmo. Mas no último mês fiz realmente algo de diferente, pelo menos em tamanho!

Despite the thousand tasks I have to do every day, there's one that continues to give me great pleasure - that's the reason I decided not to close the shop - my felt creations!
I have not shown much of what I have done lately because it is always more of the same. But last month I actually did something different, at least in size!

Primeiro foi esta encomenda de um nome com um barquinho. A novidade é que cada letra media 18 cm de altura! Foi a cliente que escolheu as cores para combinar com o quarto do seu filhote. Ficou grande, mas a cliente adorou :) Para mim isso é o mais importante.

First it was this order of a name banner with a boat. The novelty is that each letter measured 7 inches/ 18 cm tall! It was the customer who chose the colors to match her little boy's room. It looked huge, but the customer loved it :) For me this is the most important thing.

De seguida pediram-me umas letras ainda maiores - 35 cm!!!

Encomenda de uma mamã para decorar o quarto dos seus filhos gémeos :)

Then another customer asked me some letters even bigger - 14 inches / 35 cm !!!
This was a custom order from a mom to decorate her twins' room  :)

Família Numerosa »» Large Family

Desde o dia do nascimento do nosso Francisquinho que somos considerados pelo Estado Português - uma família numerosa!

É verdade que três filhos é bem mais do que a desastrosa média nacional, mas daí até ser numerosa vai uma grande distância. Também é verdade que há dias em que eu sinto que somos mesmo muitos, imensos, como se fôssemos 10 ou 20, sobretudo quando vou ao supermercado, quando acaba o leite, ou quando eles estão desvairados e fazem mais barulho que uma creche.

Mas... numerosa? Numerosas são as famílias com 6, 8, 10 filhos!

A minha avó Dorinda e o meu avó Álvaro é que tiveram uma família numerosa!

Tiveram 6 filhos, numa época em que convenhamos, a vida era bastante mais difícil do que é hoje!

Lembro-me do Dia de Natal, sempre passado lá em casa. Que confusão enorme! Havia sempre canja de galinha e galo assado, havia aletria, mousse de chocolate e Bolo Rei, tudo caseirinho feito pela minha avó com muito amor e carinho. Prendas só para as crianças, quase sempre um livrito. Mas lembro-me das brincadeiras, da boa disposição, duma mesa enorme posta a rigor para a ocasião! Das conversas animadas, das adivinhas que o meu avó adorava fazer.

Ter casa cheia custa caro e dá uma trabalheira, mas aquece muito o coração!

Estou muito feliz por ter a minha pequena família numerosa :)

Since the day of the birth of our Francisquinho we are considered by the Portuguese State - a large family!

It is true that three children is far more than the national average. It is also true that there are days when I feel that we are even more, immense, as if we were 10 or 20, especially when I go to the supermarket, or when there's no more milk in the frigde or when they are like crazy and make more noise than a daycare .

But ... large? Large are families with 6, 8, 10 children!

My grandmother Dorinda and my grandfather Alvaro had a large family!
They had 6 children, at a time when we all agree, life was much more difficult than it is today!
I remember Christmas Day, always at their home. What a huge mess! There was always chicken soup and roast chicken, noodles, chocolate mousse and cake. All made ​​by my grandmother with love and affection. Gifts were only for the children, almost always a book. But I remember the jokes, good vibe, a huge table set for the occasion! The lively conversations and the riddles that my grandfather loved to do.
Having a full house is expensive and gives a hassle, but it sure keeps a warm heart!

I'm really happy to have my own small large family :)

Um bebé lindo a crescer - já está quase com 8 meses!

A escola que começou. Duas miúdas que já estão no 4º ano - OMG!!

Algumas noites mal dormidas. Encomendas que demoram séculos a fazer - mil desculpas às clientes! A casa sempre desarrumada e eu sem tempo e forças para arrumar e limpar.

5 à mesa, todos os dias, ao almoço e ao jantar. E eu com a mania de comidinhas saudáveis e variadas. Para além disso estamos agora na fase das sopinhas, é sopinha disto, depois sopinha daquilo.

Uma ponta de depressão pós-parto. Mil tarefas para fazer. Tonturas e cansaço extremo.

Felizmente, não é todos os dias. Há dias em que estranhamente acordo cheia de força e vontade de trabalhar, limpar, arrumar, voltar a costurar (ainda não fiz todos os projectos que queria para o quarto do meu Francisco), mas quando começo uma tarefa ele acorda e pronto, já está, esquece, fica para outro dia!

As manas estão a adorar ter um mano. Não sei o que seria de mim sem elas, que foram e são o meu primeiro amor maior . Elas brincam com ele, dão a sopinha e a papinha, cantam, dançam. Adoram fazê-lo rir, ri tanto que fica com soluços!

Às vezes sinto algum desapontamento por parte delas, que estavam habituadas a ser o centro do mundo e da minha atenção, mas com quase 10 anos compreendem que têm que esperar para me contarem como foi o dia na escola, para eu ver o desenho lindo que fizeram ou até para eu corrigir os tpcs.

Mas há momentos que compensam tudo. Muito amor, carinho, beijinhos e sorrisos!

Ele é o meu novo amor, a minha vida, queria passar os dias a enchê-lo de beijos e mimos. Queria ter tempo para desfrutar mais desta fase, que eu sei vai passar tão depressa.

Vê-se que se adoram os três - quando os vejo juntos só penso - ter filhos é a melhor coisa do mundo!!

A beautiful growing baby - is now almost 8 months old!

School started. Two girls who are already in 4th grade - OMG !!

Some sleepless nights. Orders that take centuries to make- a thousand apologies to my dear customers! The house always in a mess and no time and energy to tidy and clean.

5 at the table every day for lunch and dinner. And I with the craze for healthy and varied dishes. In addition we are now at the stage of soups, soup with this, then soup with that.

A bit of postpartum depression. Thousand tasks to do. Dizziness and extreme fatigue.

Fortunately, it is not every day. There are days that I wake up strangely full of strength and willingness to work, clean, tidy, sew (I have not done all the projects I wanted for my Francisco), but when I start a task he wakes up and just forget it and leave it all  for another day!

The Sisters are loving having a brother. I do not know what would I do without them, who were and are my first biggest love. They play with him, feed him, sing, dance. Love to make him laugh, he laughs so much that he gets the hiccups!

But sometimes I feel some disappointment on their eyes, they were used to being the center of the world and of my attention, but being almost 10 years old I think and hope they understand that they have to wait to tell me about their school day, or for me to see the beautiful drawing that they made or even to correct their homework.

But then there are these moments that make up for everything else. Much love, affection, kisses and smiles!

He is my new love, my life, I just wanted to spend the entire day filling him with kisses and hugs. Wish I had more time to enjoy this phase, which I know will pass so quickly.

You can see they love each other so much - when I see them together just think - having children is the best thing in the world !!

Borboletas »» Butterflies

No final de Junho recebi uma encomenda de borboletas para oferta de baptismo.

A cliente escolheu as cores e pediu para as encher com alfazema. Foi uma correria para ficarem prontas a tempo, mas valeu o esforço, ficaram lindas e cheirosas. São uma lembrança bonita e com utilidade, pois podem ser colocadas em armários para perfumar a roupa.

Vejam lá se não ficaram um amor.

In late June I received an order for butterflies as favors to offer at a baptism. The customer chose the colors and asked to fill them with lavender. It was not easy to get them ready in time, but it was

Esta é uma ideia para utilizar as borboletas como decoração das mesas da festa, pode inclusive juntar-se um papelinho com o nome do convidado e assim marcar o lugar à mesa. No fim da festa cada convidado pode levar a sua borboleta para casa.
