Tic Tac Toe for Blind Kids!

This is a tactile version of Tic Tac Toe, complete with a raised grid, plush Xs and Os and braille. The entire game can be stored in the pouch that also serves as the game board.

The game set is all handmade with wool felt, embriodery thread and polyester fiberfill. The Xs and Os are all hand cut, hand sewn, and stuffed for a 3D effect that is easier to hold. Each game piece is about 2.4 inches tall.

Angry Birds

Tenho estado ausente aqui do blogue, mas por uma razão boa: muitos jogos do galo para fazer!
Hoje listei um novo jogo na loja! A pedido de uma cliente fiz um jogo inspirado nos Angry Birds.

A outra novidade foi que acrescentei o nome da criança ao jogo!  Assim a partir de agora podem comprar um jogo super personalizado e único! Nem sei como é que ainda não tinha pensado nisto antes : P

Este fim-de-semana eu e as miúdas fizemos um Jogo da Memória com materiais reciclados.
Um não, dois! É claro!
A escola delas está  envolvida no projecto Eco-Escolas e a ideia era criar um brinquedo ou jogo que pudesse ser utilizado no recreio pelas crianças e que fosse feito a partir de material reciclado.
Utilizamos garrafões de água, tampas de garrafões, cordel e papel. E aqui estão eles! Prova superada : )

This weekend the girls and I made a eco-friendly Memory Game with recycled materials.
Not one, two! Of course! 
Their school is involved in the Eco-Schools project and the idea was to create a toy or game made ​​from recycled material that could be used by children in the playground. 
We used water bottles, bottle lids, string and paper. And here they are!

Esta semana fiz um jogo do galo muito especial!
A pedido de uma cliente fiz este jogo para a sua filha cega.
Quando soube que o jogo era para uma criança cega tentei melhorá-lo para que fosse mais fácil de utilizar.

This week I made a very special tic tac toe game set! 
At the request of a client I made ​​this game for her blind daughter. 
When I heard that the game was for a blind child I tried to improve it so that it would be easier to use.

Para definir bem os espaços do jogo decidi coser umas tiras de feltro.
I sew some felt stripes to better define the squares at the back.

E aquelas bolinhas à frente? É tic tac toe (jogo do galo) escrito em BRAILLE.
And those little dots at the front? That's just tic tac toe written in BRAILLE.

Cartão Dia do Pai »» Father's Day Card

As férias da Páscoa já começaram e agora somos 3 o dia todo! Eu gosto de as ter por casa, pois podemos fazer actividades que durante o período escolar não é possível. Entre ver televisão, brincar e fazer trabalhos de casa querem fazer algo de diferente todos os dias. E como hoje é Dia do Pai ontem fizemos uns cartões para elas darem ao Pai!
São super fáceis de fazer (assim que se percebe como) e ficam tão fofos : )

The Easter holidays have started and now we are 3 all day! I like to have them home all day because we do activities that we can't do during school time. In between watching television, playing and doing some homework they want to do something different every day. And since today is Father's Day yesterday we made some cards for them to give to their Father!
They are super easy to make (as soon as we can figure it out) and they are so cute: )

Tirei a ideia do site da Martha Stewart, mas a verdade é que as instruções estão indecifráveis, mas depois de alguma pesquisa na net lá os conseguimos fazer. Aproveitei e fui tirando umas fotos do processo, assim vocês podem também fazer um cartãozinho!

Pegue numa cartolina e corte um rectângulo. O nosso tem 24x17 cm.

Recorte uma gravata dum pedaço de papel e cole.
