Doce de Maçã »» Apple jam

Ora cá está o doce de maçã com canela que fiz há duas semanas atrás.
Uns frasquinhos ficaram cá por casa (podem vê-los na prateleira de baixo) e os outros foram para a Feira da alimentação que se realizou na escola das minhas filhas.

Partilho aqui a minha receita para quem quiser experimentar:
Descasquei e parti aos pedaçinhos 1 kg de maçãs. Coloquei-as num tacho . Adicionei 500g de açúcar, 100 ml de água , 1c. chá de canela em pó e um pau de canela.  Levei ao lume brando durante 1 hora.
Entretanto lavei os frascos e esterilizei-os dentro de uma panela com água a ferver durante 15 minutos e depois pu-los a secar dentro do forno a 150ºC.
Passado 1 hora da maçã estar a cozer, retirei o pau de canela e passei tudo com a varinha mágica. Levei novamente ao lume brando até atingir ponto de estrada.
Finamente dividi o doce pelos frasquinhos e colei umas etiquetas.

Here is the apple jam with cinnamon I made two weeks ago.
Some jars stayed at our home (you can see them in the bottom shelf) but the majority of the jars went to my daughters' school to be sold at the school food fair.

I share here my recipe for those of you that want to try:
I peeled 1 kg of apples and cut them into small pieces. Placed them in a pan. I added 500g sugar, 100ml water, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder and a cinnamon stick.  
Bring to simmer for 1 hour.
I washed the jars in soapy water, sterilised them in a pan with boiling water for 15 minutes and then dried them in the oven at 150ºC.
After 1 hour I removed the cinnamon stick and passed the hand blender. Then brought it to boil until it formed a thread when pressed together and pulled apart.
Finally I filled the jars with the jam and labbelled them.

Estojos em tecido »» Fabric Pencilcase rolls

Em Julho passado fiz uns estojos em tecido para as minhas filhas, depois fiz mais uns para oferecer e agora pediram-me para fazer mais.
Pois aqui estão dois novos estojos. Os lápis estão incluídos (12 lápis da Maped), mas cabem mais de 24 lápis no estojo. Espero que gostem : )

Last July I sew some fabric pencilcase rolls for my daughters. Then I made some more to offer as birthday presents and now I was asked to make some more.
So here they are. Two new fabric pencilcase rolls.
The pencils are included (12 from Maped). But there's room for more than 24 pencils in the roll. 
Hope you like them : )

Ontem fiz uma bolsinha em feltro para o meu telemóvel.
É tão bom de vez em quando fazer uma coisa só para mim : )

Outono »» Autumn

Chegou o Outono! E inspirada pelas cores outonais lembrei-me de fazer uma coisa nova para a loja. É uma experiência, se as pessoas gostarem em breve haverá mais coisas assim na loja : )

Autumn is here! Inspired in Autumn colors I decided to make something new to put in the shop. It's just an experiment and it people like it there will soon be more of these banners in the shop : )

Arrábida

Setembro já vai a meio e com o início do ano lectivo é como se hoje começasse um novo ano. Já fui levar as miúdas à escola, novas rotinas, novos horários e uma certa nostalgia por deixar de estar com elas o dia todo, mas tem de ser... e a verdade é que sem elas em casa sobra muito mais tempo para os meus mimos :)

Aproveitámos este último fim-de-semana antes do início da escola para ir descobrir mais uma das maravilhas de Portugal, desta vez fomos à descoberta do Parque Natural da Serra da Arrábida. E ficámos rendidos a tanta beleza.
O nosso passeio começou em Setúbal na avenida principal, mais propriamente na Avenida Luísa Todi. Daí partimos em direcção à serra e às suas praias. Praia do Albarquel, Figueirinha e o belíssimo Portinho da Arrábida foram as nossas preferidas. Entre a praia do Albarquel e a de Figueirinha encontrámos o parque da Comenda onde aproveitámos para fazer um piquenique.
Depois deixámos as praias para trás e fomos até à pacata vila de Azeitão, onde aproveitámos para provar a famosa torta de Azeitão. De volta a Setúbal, fomos jantar a um dos muitos restaurantes à beira das docas onde provámos a especialidade da zona, o choco frito.
No domingo fomos direitos à praia da Figueirinha para aproveitar uma fantástica manhã de sol. Com a maré baixa formam-se bancos de areia que fazem as delícias de pequenos e graúdos.
Continuámos, então viagem passando por Sesimbra. Já de regresso a casa demos ainda um pulo à tão conhecida Costa da Caparica.
E assim foi o nosso fim-de-semana.E agora que comesse o ano!

We are already in mid-September and with the beginning of the school year it's as if today a new year begins. I took the girls to school, new routines, new schedules and a certain nostalgia for not being with them all day, but it's the way it is ... and the truth is that without them at home I have a lot more spare time for my sweet felt creations : )

We took this last weekend before the start of school to go find another one of the wonders of Portugal, this time we went to the discovery of the Natural Park of Arrábida. And we were surrendered to such beauty. 
Our tour began in Setúbal on the main avenue, more specifically on Avenida Luísa Todi. Then we headed towards the mountains and the beaches. Albarquel beach, Figueirinha beach and the beautiful Portinho da Arrábida were our favorites. Between the beaches of Albarquel and Figueirinha we found a lovely spot for a picnic at Parque da Comenda. 
After we left the beaches we went to the quiet village of Azeitão, where we savored a piece of Torta de Azeitão. Back in Setúbal, we had dinner at one of the many restaurants on the edge of the docks where we tasted Setúbal's specialty, fried cuttlefish. 
On Sunday we went to Figueirinha beach to enjoy a fantastic sunny morning. With low tide it forms sand banks that are the delight of children and adults. 
We then continued our travel through Sesimbra. Before returning home we had time for a peek at Costa da Caparica. 
And so was our weekend. And now let the year begin!
