A moda dos slings (portas bebés) pegou e quase toda a gente com bebés tem um sling. Então decidi fazer um! E não, não estou à espera de bebé!

The slings are here to stay! Everybody I know that has a baby also has a sling. So I decided to try making one. Just for fun. And no, I'm not pregnant!

As garotas adoraram o sling e querem que lhes faça um para os seus bebés! Obrigada Sara pela partilha.

Pão-de-ló de Ovar »» Ovar sponge cake

 

Como já é costume aos Domingos fiz um bolo para o lanche. Como tinha muitos ovos resolvi fazer um delicioso Pão-de-Ló de Ovar. E como podem ver na foto ficou húmido por dentro. É provavelmente o melhor bolo do mundo! A receita está aqui : )

As usual on Sundays I bake a cake for tea. As I had many eggs I decided on a delicious Ovar sponge cake. And as you can see on the photo the inside is really moist, as it should be. Likely to be the best cake in the world! The recipe is here : )

Quilt

Terminei finalmente a minha primeira colcha de retalhos!
Há algum tempo a minha mãe deu-me uma caixa cheia de retalhos: amostras de tecidos que ela tinha reunido durante todos os anos que trabalhou para a Snucker. Mas o que é que eu havia de fazer com tanto pedacinho de tecido? Deitar ao lixo - nem pensar, eu sou daquelas pessoas que até os lacinhos dos embrulhos guarda, pois poderão dar jeito para alguma coisa. Então depois de ver colchas lindíssimas como esta e esta decidi meter mãos à obra e (tentar) fazer uma colcha. Devo dizer que não foi fácil, eram realmente muitos retalhos.
Mas está definitivamente acabada. É verdade que tem as imperfeições normais de uma primeira colcha, mas se querem saber: adoro-a. Acho que ficou linda!

I finally finished my first quilt!
Some time ago my mother gave me a box full of little pieces of fabric. She used to work for Snucker and had lots of samples. But what should I do with so many pieces of fabric? Throwing away was completely out of the question because I am one of those people that keeps even the ribbons of presents - you never know when you need them! So after spotting this and this beautiful quilts I made up my mind and started the atempt of sewing my first quilt. I must say it wasn't easy, there were really lots of pieces to sew together.
But it is finally done. It's true it has the normal imperfections of a first quilt, but you know what: I love it just the way it turned out. I think it's beautiful!

Saias de Inverno »» Winter skirts

Por muito que nos custe o Inverno ainda só vai a meio. E por isso precisamos de roupa quentinha e confortável. Fiz estas saias em fazenda para as garotas usando o tutorial do blog oliver + s:  lazy days skirt!
O único problema é que elas não gostam muito do tecido.

Não se pode agradar sempre. E só para que conste eu acho que estão muito giras!

As hard as it can be, we're only halfway through Winter. So we're still in need for warm, cosy clothes. I sew these skirts for the girls in tweed using the lasy days skirt free pattern from oliver+s!
The only problem is that they don't like the fabric.

You can't always please. And so that you know I find them very cute!
